Dr. Steve is originally from a small town in central Illinois called Oreana, but has made Lockport, Illinois his home since 1997. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with his first bachelor’s degree in biology in 1992. He then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and graduated in 1997. Upon completion, he went to Loyola University Medical Center and spent a year in a General Practice Residency, where he was not only exposed to all fields and forms of dentistry, but also completed rotations in oral surgery, anesthesia and medicine. In 1998, Dr. Steve returned to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry after being accepted into the Pediatric Dental program and completed his training in the year 2000.
Dr. Steve currently has two bachelor’s degrees and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He has a license as a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and holds a dental sedation permit in the state of Illinois. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2006. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Will County Dental Society and the Illinois Society for Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Steve and his wonderful wife, Kathy, have three beautiful children: Beth, Mason and Kyle. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, cooking/grilling, gardening and working in his yard. In his spare time, he also enjoys an occasional golf game. Dr. Steve is a rabid University of Illinois fan (Go Illini!). He loves sports (Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals and White Sox) and having fun with family, friends and neighbors.
