COVID-19 Precautions

To All Our Patients of Treasured Smiles Adult and Cosmetic Dentistry

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.  Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.  While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office.  Since our closure due to Covid-19 we have made many changes to our infection control procedures in order to keep our patients and staff safe while continuing to put your oral health as a priority.

As of May 11, 2020, the IDPH has allowed dental offices to resume routine oral care.  With this in mind, we will reopen our office while following infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association(ADA), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) and the Illinois Department of Health (IDH).  We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.  We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agency’s recommendations.

Here are some changes that you will see when it is time for your next appointment.  These changes are important to keep all our patients and staff safe.

  • Our office will communicate with you prior to your appointment via text, email or phone to ask some screening questions. There will be a link in the confirmation email and/or text that you can use to fill out the questionnaire.
  • We ask that you wear a mask to the office and wait in your car until someone calls you to come inside.
  • Once at the office we will ask that you sanitize your hands and your temperature will be taken.
  • In order to allow for social distancing, we ask that you come to your appointments alone.
  • We are increasing our disinfection protocol as follows:
  • We are using UV Germicidal lamps between patients
  • We have portable HEPA filters in the treatment rooms
  • UVC lights have been installed in our heating/air conditioner unit for extra purification.
  • As for our staff, we will be wearing extra PPE and lab coats that will be changed between patients.
  • Our schedule will be arranged so we limit the people entering the building but most importantly it will give our staff more time to thoroughly disinfect the rooms and prepare them for each patient.

We appreciate your patience through these changing times.  We truly look forward to seeing you back in our office and are here to answer any of your questions or concerns.  Someone will be reaching out to you to reschedule any appointment(s) that you originally had scheduled during our time of closure.  Also, please feel free to call us at 815-426-0016 to make an appointment.

Thank you again for being our patient.  We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
