COVID-19 Precautions

Greetings to All of our Patients and Families,

We hope that you and your family are doing well during this unprecedented time.  As our community begins to adapt to a new normal, we as your child’s dental care provider, are looking forward to once again caring for your child. We are excited to announce that our office will re-open for routine dental care on Tuesday May 26th.

While many things have changed, our commitment to your child’s oral health, safety and well-being remains the same.  Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and due to Covid-19 we have added even more precautions to keep our patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the American Dental Association (ADA).  Here are some of the new precautions and protocols regarding your child’s future appointments.

  • We will contact you prior to your child’s appointment to confirm and conduct a pre-op health screening. This is our most important tool and the earliest step to lessening the risk of infection for everyone in the office. For this reason, if we miss you, please call us back as soon possible, well before the scheduled appointment.
  • All patients and parents will be required to wear their mask or face covering.
  • Parents and caregivers will be asked to arrive on time for the child’s appointment and we will call or text when it is time to bring them in.
  • You and your child will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the office.
  • We will perform health screenings and take both of your temperatures.
  • In order to help with social distancing, we will limit the number of people in the office and in most cases, parents and siblings will be asked to wait in their vehicle during the child’s appointment.
  • We are increasing our disinfection protocols and minimizing aerosols during procedures.
  • We are allowing additional time to thoroughly disinfect the rooms and prepare them for each patient as well as performing continuous sanitation throughout the office.
  • Between patients, we are incorporating the use of foggers in our treatment rooms with an environmentally safe disinfectant.
  • Our office is now upgraded with the proper HEPA and UVC filtration as recommended by the CDC. This increased air turnover and filtration helps eliminate any virus that may be suspended in air.
  • Our staff will have their temperatures taken daily and health screenings will be performed prior to the start of every day.
  • Our entire staff will be wearing masks and our clinical team will be wearing extra personal protective equipment (PPE).

We appreciate your patience while we try to reach everyone to reschedule missed appointments during our closure. We will be in touch very soon. In the meantime, if your child should experience a dental emergency, please contact our office at 815-806-1600.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
